Old Vine West Australia Shiraz

With the fruit solely from our original 1973 vines, the Old Vine Shiraz shows superb colour with peppery intense fruit well integrated with oak. The palate rolls out like a fine Persian carpet. Silky, smooth, deeply patterned in its fruit complexity and with the oak a lot more integrated than the bouquet suggests. This is a triumph of a mature vineyard and a winemaking team that understands it. Great drinking now, it will be much better in five years and who knows what promise beyond that.
