Vintage 2013

Wolf Blass Black Label was, arguably, at the forefront of the charge into the modern style of Australian reds. Lavishly oaked, the wine took the the wine show scene by storm back in the 70's.. Fast forward to the 41st edition, 2013 vintage, and nothing much has changed. There's always an aura of luxury about the wine. Opulent, full, dark colour, tremendous power and complexity, and always with those smoothing oak tannins. Jam-packed with dark fruit and hints of South Australian chocolate, showing little sign of age, wines of this dimension may develop sediment, so decanting may be needed. Superb now, the next 5 years will see further improvement.
