Super classy Barossa fruit, clearly selected on the basis of its peppery qualities but, happily delivering far more than that. A nose of deep malt, molasses, gunpowder, black fruit - it's like looking down a long black hole, full of mystery. It's been wonderfully crafted from only the very best fruit. The oak component adds smoothness and cedar. There's an incredible array of dark flavours - aniseed balls, rich dark bitter chocolate, dried black currants, red meat pan reduction, cracked black pepper, damp black turf, The label reads, '...a remarkable depth of flavour, dark fruit intensity, a silky richness, and stunning black pepper.' Believe it. It's true. The wine is destined for a long and glorious life.
