Vintage 2025

This is made from a combination of largely Shiraz with smaller contributions of Grenache and Nebbiolo from the Heathcote region. It captures so much of modern Australian Rosé, and I suspect that inclusion of about 10% Nebbiolo has introduced that slightly savoury character evident initially on the nose and then certainly profoundly evident on the palate. A mix of red berry and watermelon and a little lift of floral rose petal provide such a wonderful current drinking wine. This is high-class stuff.

Whole-bunch pressed to old oak for fermentation, estate bottled a few months later. Certified organic. This rises above the average rosé; it's well structured, with good grip driving flavours deep. The addition of nebbiolo is a master stroke, bringing the structure, a lingering sense of savouriness with orange peel and lively florals matched to crunchy red fruits, wild herbs with some mealy notes noted and a lingering dusty earthiness. Complexity-plus in one pale-salmon little beauty of a rosé.
