La Trappe Dubbel is an authentic Trappist ale, brewed within the walls of Koningshoeven Abbey in the Netherlands by monks whose brewing tradition dates back to 1884. Today, there are only seven Trappist breweries in the worldproducing beer under the protected Authentic Trappist Product designation, and La Trappe is one of them. This rich, chestnut-brown Dubbel pours with a creamy off-white head and offers inviting aromas of caramel, dried fruit, dates and subtle spice. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with layers of toffee, dark fruit, toasted malt and a gentle hint of sweetness, balanced by a clean, dry finish.
