Dandelion VineyardsPride of the Fluerieu Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
About this product
Selected bunches were hand picked by family and friends in the last week of March and gently crushed into open top fermenters. After 8 days fermentation the wine was then basket pressed into some new but predominately older French Oak Barriques for 18 months maturation and then bottled with minimal winemaking artifact, to capture the essence of the vineyard and will reward cellaring and decanting.

Blackberry and menthol characters with splashes of herbs and toasty oak. Well managed, well balanced and well sustained, with pretty generous fruit, too. Outright complexity will take time to build but the spread of tannin here will give the wine every chance to achieve just that.

A splendid expression of the variety, showing blackcurrant, mulberry, rich floral, mixed spice and toasty oak characters on the nose. The superbly weighted palate offers good density and flow, beautifully framed by fine texture and plenty of polished tannins, making it sturdy yet harmonious and supple. At its best: now to 2036.
