Black Label Shiraz 2024

Wine styleDry, Medium Bodied style of Shiraz

About this product

Shiraz, formerly known as “Hermitage”, has long been an important part of Coonawarra’s history. While the region’s acknowledged reputation for age-worthy wines has largely centred on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Shiraz blends, its earliest plantings in the 1890s focused on other varieties, in particular Shiraz.
Today, Wynns is privileged to grow Shiraz across many prime sites within Coonawarra. These vineyards hold both history and a proven record of quality. The Old Vines Shiraz is selected from the oldest of these sites, including the Undoolya vineyard – a rare fragment of the original 1890s fruit colony plantings, established between 1894 and 1897.
Medium-bodied with a fine, silky palate, Wynns ‘Old Vines’ Shiraz is a superb example of Coonawarra’s cool-climate style.
