ArrocalParaje Colmenare Ribera Duero
About this product
Bodegas Arrocal is a family-owned estate nestled in the historic village of Gumiel de Mercado, in the heart of Spain’s Ribera del Duero. Though the family’s viticultural roots span generations, the Arrocal label was officially established in 2002 by Rosa Arroyo and Moisés Calvo, husband and wife. Today, the winery is defined by a shift toward precision, terroir-driven winemaking led by the founders' sons, Rodrigo and Asier, who bridge long-standing tradition with a modern vision for the region's unique landscape.Paraje de los Colmenares is a single-vineyard expression sourced from the ""Los Colmenares"" area in the eastern part of the village of Gumiel de Mercado. Grown on steep slopes at high elevations between 850 and 890 meters, these vines thrive in shallow clay-limestone soils. This 100% Tinto Fino, aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels, is a wine with depth and complexity. It offers a concentrated bouquet of dark bramble fruit, crushed stone, and toasted notes. The palate is round and generous revealing layers of blackcurrant, spice, and mineral tension, all balanced by velvety tannins and vibrant acidity. This is a benchmark Ribera del Duero.
