Primofiore Valpolicella 2021

The Primofiore, or first flower, is a blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This wine is made with the runoff juice from first pressings of what will be used for the estate’s superlative Amarone. Released no less than four years from harvest, the Primofiore is a wine of substance and depth yet is full of youthful energy. Rich orchard fresh cherry fruit, deep florals, fragrant earth, spice and dried herbs. Silken tannins keep the wine present on the palate, long enough to figure out some of the elusive, will-o’-the-wisp nuances. Caveat emptor; it’s very easy to fall head over heels for this wine.
