Joseph DrouhinPuligny Montrachet 2023
About this product
The Puligny-Montrachet displays a bouquet of white peach and honeysuckle, giving way to notes of roasted hazelnuts, wet stone, and a hint of fresh fern. Matured for 14–16 months in French oak with a judicious 20% new wood, it balances tense, flinty energy with a saline, crystalline finish. An elite expression of Chardonnay that balances chiseled precision with the mineral depth of Burgundy’s finest limestone soils.

"90 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate, January 2025 Aromas of white flowers, sweet stone fruit and vanilla pod introduce Drouhin's 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that's lively and charming. 88-90 points, Neal Martin, Vinous.com, November 2024 The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village, from purchased grapes, has a light, apple blossom-scented bouquet with just a touch of wet stone. The palate is crisp on the entry with pretty citrus fruit notes and a nicely detailed finish. Drink this over the next four to six years. 89-91 points, Jasper Morris, November 2024 Pale lemon and lime, with at the moment more oak showing, as the Puligny has not yet been racked. There is plenty of quality orchard fruit, while a good thread of acidity extends the fruit well out at the back of the palate. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Nov 2024."
