Joseph DrouhinChassagne Montrachet 2023
About this product
The Chassagne-Montrachet unveils a bouquet of white peach and Meyer lemon, seamlessly melded with delicate hints of toasted almond, honeysuckle, and crushed flint. Matured for 14–16 months in French oak barrels (20% new oak), it marries a rich, supple mid-palate with a vibrant, mineral-etched acidity unfolding into a clean, mouthwatering finish. Hailing from one of the three "Holy Grail" white wine villages—alongside Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet—this is a superb expression of world-class Chardonnay.

"90 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate, January 2025 Aromas of orange oil, pear and toasty oak introduce the 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Village, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine with a satiny attack and lively acids. This is a strong effort at the communal level. 90-92 points, Jasper Morris, November 2024 Pale lemon colour. The Chassagne offers slightly more chiselled a white fruit nose than the Puligny. More restrained, stricter even, but I think the finer of the two, with a lovely purity. Precision throughout. Lovely. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2024."
