Halliday Sauvignon Blanc of the Year 2025

Vintage 2024
95 points points Robert Parker The Wine Advocate
The 2024 Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc leads with salted churned butter, white flowers, beeswax, lemon pith, almond meal and apricot kernel. In the mouth, the wine is pure and powerful, with a cascade of nuts, baking spices, brine and curd. This is eminently sophisticated and a shining example of what is possible within the context of this style. The vineyard is on a 37-million-year-old limestone ridge in the heart of Wrattonbully wine region in South Australia. The wine was fermented and matured in a combination of French oak and stainless steel, kept on the full lees in both vessels, with no bâtonnage, then was blended, settled for a couple of months and bottled. This is a sensational wine. A blistering value for money, it offers a legitimate cellaring proposition and is also a great wine to drink now. Your call, both pathways are valid. 95 Points.
