Glenmorangie Bacalta is the eagerly awaited eighth release in Glenmorangie’s award-winning Private Edition, for which an intriguing, limited-edition single malt has been released every year since 2010. Glenmorangie Bacalta (Scots Gaelic for baked) is the first Glenmorangie expression ever to be extra-matured in sun-baked casks which once contained Malmsey Madeira, the sweetest and most prized of all Madeira wines. Designed for Scotch whisky connoisseurs, Glenmorangie Bacalta has taken a unique journey through extra-maturation – bespoke at every turn. This innovative limited edition was inspired by long, balmy days on the island of Madeira.
Light gold in colour with a fragrant, honeyed and sweet nose. A burst of mint toffee proceeds flavours of caramelised oranges and apricots, honeycomb, almonds and dates. Finishing with a rich syrupy aftertaste and an intriguing mentholic sensation.
