The nose on this Laurance Chardonnay begins with white grapefruit and subtle hints of lime curd, followed by nashi pear, nectarine and freshly sliced white almonds. Undertones of vanilla, butterscotch and crème brulee intermingle with a background of roasted hazelnuts which fade gracefully on the long minerally finish. A nice balance of texture, flavour and restraint.

Estate-grown, and very much in the Laurance style; barrel-fermented then matured in French oak for 9 months. Attractive regional fruit, with grapefruit, white peach and creamy/nutty nuances running through to the well balanced finish.

Rich ''n toasty, good acidity means it wears its age rather well. Still looking fresh in a mature sense. Butterscotch, grilled almonds, concentrated.
