From the earliest vintage on record at Tahbilk, this gold medal winner has a colour that indicates it will have a long life. Sinewy and medium bodied in the Tahbilk mould, it retains that characteristic earthy savouriness, and relies on fruit quality rather than an abundance of oak artifact. The tannins are fairly prominent at the moment but extra time in the bottle will balance that up. The spicy pepper and anise characters prominent in the wine make it a great candidate as a "food" wine.
