Sing along - "Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holden Cars..." To those may we add Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz. It's as Aussie as the harbour bridge, and there's hardly a soul, of wine drinking age, who hasn't enjoyed a glass or two. Just about every home cellar in Australia has held bottles of the stuff. And for good reason. Not only is it consistently good, and rare value for money, its considerable quality allows for extended cellaring in most years. Our carefully cellared 2015 vintage was highly praised on release. As of February, 2023, the colour is still on the youthful cerise side. The body is medium and the aromas are of rose petal, violets and ripe fruit. Wow, the palate remains stylish and very even, nothing out of place, dark fruit and cherries holding sway. The tannins are light and velvety and the finish is smooth and long. This is remarkably fine drinking for its humble price. And, another 5 years cellaring will do it no harm.
