Chateau L'EvangilePomerol 2012
About this product
It certainly helps when the parent company is famed first growth Chateau Lafite and your consultant winemaker is Michel Rolland, but the success of Chateau L'Evangile came even before these distinguished moves. The estate is known as one of the best in Pomerol, a consistent performer with vineyards bound by notable producers Chateau Gazin, Chateau La Conseillante and the impeccable Chateau Cheval Blanc. The wine is a blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc with 100% new oak used to capture the concentration and depth of flavour possible from the vintage. The wine is a formidable red of power and presence, destined for drinking to 40-odd years and best left for at least five before approaching.
