Vintage 2016
93 points Halliday Wine Companion
Produced from vines planted in '98 on the western ridge of the Barossa. Soil is stony red-brown earth over limestone. 12 months in French oak, 30% new. An eye-catching colour, deep and inky in the glass. Liquorice, ripe red plum and dark chocolate aromas all prominent on the bouquet, with an underlying tarry earthiness. Deeply flavoured without being massive, and supple in texture; unevolved, but has plenty of scope to improve.
