Ultimately for the fervent, The Balvenie DCS Compendium celebrates the lifetime work of The Balvenie Malt Master, David Charles Stewart (DCS), a legendary figure in the Scotch Whisky industry. He is one of only twelve Malt Masters and the longest-serving in the Scotch Whisky industry. Starting with this release, we are offering for sale the first chapter (5 bottles) and accompanying book, which captures the unrivalled skill and knowledge amassed by David. This flight of five whiskies corresponds to the first chapter of the DSC book, Distillery Style, which focuses on the unique sweet and honeyed character of the spirit distilled at The Balvenie distillery. Ultimately for fervent collector, it can be built into a series of 5 chapters, each consisting of five single casks whiskies that relate to each of the chapters of the DCS book. The set is presented in a walnut and brass presentation frame, handmade by wood craftsman Sam Chinnery, each one engraved with a number to show it is one of only 50 made.
