To see a wine at this price in the rather quirky stubby bottle, as much as I might like it, seems a gamble. Will consumers take it seriouslyTo see a wine at this price in the rather quirky stubby bottle, as much as I might like it, seems a gamble. Will consumers take it seriously? I guess we’ll find out, but they should. This is a fabulous wine and deserves wide attention. The fruit here was harvested from a wonderful old vineyard at Seigersdorf in the Barossa Valley. Under Diam. A deep purple hue, this is attractively perfumed with notes of cassis, aniseed, black fruits, mocha, black cherries, graphite and beefstock. A superb example of the style, it offers such a seamless and seductive texture, fresh acidity, silky tannins, immaculate balance and great length. This will provide pleasure for the next ten to twenty years. Love it and if you have any qualms about the stumpy bottle, ignore them I guess we’ll find out, but they should.
