WynnsChilds Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
About this product
Bright and youthful nose with classical Cabernet characters, including cassis, mixed berries and sage. The palate is a mix of summer berries, brambles and leafy spice notes defined by fine, chalky tannin. Both bright and complex, this wine has exceptional length and balance, finishing with red and dark berry layers, with a subtle layer of fragrant oak.

The vineyard was planted in '69, and the vines were cut back and reworked in '09, giving what was always a very good vineyard a new lease of life, appropriate given the tannin structure of the wine, a foundation for its fresh, bright fruit profile.

Tasted Jan. 2022. These Wynns Single Vineyard wines represent some of the best value on the Australian wine scene. They are singled out from the herd for very good reason. Seriously elegant with flowing black currant and red fruit, choc notes, super fine tannins, plum sauce, a small portion of cedary high quality oak. A wine of great precision and charm. Drink now or cellar for a further 10 years.
