Katnook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has long been regarded as one of Coonawarra's "yardstick" cabernets. The 2013 vintage has produced a wine that is right in the groove. Careful cellaring has done wonders for the wine, softening the tannins, adding soft,leathery notes, and generally, filling out the flavour profile. Inimitable Coonawarra mint wafts over concentrated dark berry and black currant fruit, while savoury leaf andchocolate hints can also be detected. The wine is now reaching ideal middle-age, but will hold easily for another 2 to 3 years.
