Paternus Shiraz Cabernet

‘Paternus’ is Latin for ‘from the father’ and stands tall like a paternal father – being the masculine counter to the Frux Frugis – with its powerful cassis and summer berry flavours, is a great complement to the Frux Frugis’ ripe plum and spicy finesse. Both the Cabernet and Shiraz for this blend come from the old Ulithorne vineyard. This unique parcel of Cabernet is highly aromatic and quite unique to the clone. Made for lovers of Cabernet, the fragrance of dark summer berries and cassis from the Cabernet fruit is dominant on the nose with mulberry, ripe plum and a touch of spice from the Shiraz. The palate has great depth and length with a fine tannin structure from the gentle fermentation rate and restrained oak handling; a wine to cellar.
