With utter respect for this region, Alberto Antonini the owner and wine maker at Poggiotondo makes his wines in a modern style, whilst adhering to the true regional characteristics of the Chianti region in which the grapes are grown. Balance and harmony is the philosophy of all the Poggiotondo wines. A blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot. Ripe red fruit, earthy, and slight hints of tar. The palate has elegant fine Sangiovese tannins, with savoriness and a long fresh, minerally finish.

Medium bodied red wines have a lightly textured mouthfeel with moderate flavour impact. Often medium in colour.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.
