About this product

Le Sol is produced from premium fruit grown on the Gimblett Gravels in Hawkes Bay, NZ. It is produced only in the best years and is regarded as one of the super stars on the New Zealand wine scene. Careful cellaring has allowed this fine wine to reach its peak elegantly. Its charm is in the layering and fine detail. The acid is natural, the colour retains a youthful plumminess, the tannins are fine and the flavours subtle and refined. Allow it to unfurl in the decanter for maximum enjoyment.

Open this a day before you drink it. Decant it. You will not regret it. And it’s even better a day later. Utterly delicious. Just don’t be in a hurry to enjoy it. I will buy more.

Craggy Range make some amazing pinot noir and some very good syrah. Unfortunately the 2011 Le Sol is past it.It may have been a good wine once-perhaps even very good but no longer. Save your $$$ for something else.

I tied two bottles out of the 6 I brought and both went down the sink! The friend who tasted them with me (who has done wine qualifications) said “smells like petrol”. I am sure these were good at one stage, but where ever they were cellare
