Our cellaring program has brought this top Kiwi red to its zenith. A sumptuous Merlot dominant blend from the famed Gimlett Gravels in Hawke's Bay, it's easy to see why Sophia is regarded as one of New Zealand's very best reds. Floral aromatics introduce notes of cassis and blood plum, tempered by the use of outstanding French oak, and, now, showing mature hints of nuttiness and leather. Elegantly tuned to perfection, we feel it's best drinking window is right now, and for the next two years.
