Lillet was birthed in 1872, a time aperitif tradition is honoured in France. Lillet Rouge brings a strong, ruby coloured alternative to the white with a savant combination of Merlot wine from Bordeaux and a blend of citrus liqueurs from orange peels and bitter green apple, quinine and spices. Powerful bouquet of ripe berries and spices with a supple and lingering finish

My favourite Lillet

I love this expression from Lillet. Great before or after dinner aperitif. Also, this may not what it is made for but mixing this with a spicy ginger beer and absolutely amazing.

This is an uninteresting rather flaccid aperitif. over sweet and lacking the complexity and balance one might expect.
