17 points, Jancis Robinson, September 202160- to 100-year-old (yet this is not the Vieilles Vignes cuvée!) Serine from Les Savaux, Les Chaillots and Les Reynards. 50% whole bunch. Aged for 12 months in new and one-year-old barrels, then 12 months in foudre. To be released autumn 2022. Cask sample.Blackish crimson. Rich, complex, intense nose that's a little sweeter than a Hermitage but is clearly related to it. Relatively juicy for a Cornas though there are some firm tannins on the finish, which is admirably cool. Serious wine – so I look forward to tasting the Vieilles Vignes cuvée next…
