Now, if we were not overwhelmed with chocolate in the ‘Chocolate Factory’, would we find blackberries in the ‘Blackberry Patch’Now, if we were not overwhelmed with chocolate in the ‘Chocolate Factory’, would we find blackberries in the ‘Blackberry Patch’? Absolutely… Dark maroon, the nose is immediately exciting. Lush blackberries (so the brief filled), coffee beans, cigar box notes, spices, chocolate, and dark satsuma plums. Good intensity on the palate which travels the length which is deceptively long with very fine tannins. This is a brilliant warmer climate Cabernet and will drink well for ten years easily. Love it. Wonderfully fruited and pristine, the wine shows blackcurrant, dark cherry, dried herb and cedary oak characters on the nose, followed by a concentrated palate delivering terrific weight and fine flow. Well structured and persistent with delicious flavours. At its best: now to 2033. WineOrbit.co.nz, Sam Kim, August 2022.
