The colour is a deep crimson-purple, and the volume of cassis/blackcurrant fruit is very impressive. While it is powerful, the edges have been skilfully honed and smoothed, making the wine an each way proposition - now or much later.

The tang of redcurrants, the crunch of capsicum and the character of dried herbs make for an exactingly varietal Barossa cabernet, true to the cool 2017 season, charged with tangy acidity and backed with fine-grained tannins. It will benefit from a few years to soften and integrate.
