Merlot plays the dominant role in the blend delivering the trademark softness of Saint-Émilion wines. The 2008 vintage has produced a lovely plush and full-bodied Clos Fourtet which has length and persistence.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
