Dry, Medium Bodied style of Pinot NoirYarra Valley, AustraliaThe grapes were 42% handpicked and 58% machine harvested. A mix of clones, 114, 115 and MV6. Clones were broken up a nd fermented as four lots. 114 was destemmed with 15% whole bunch on the bottom. 115 was 100% destemmed . Two tonnes of MV6 were 100% whole bunch and the rest of MV6 came in machined. 25 days on skins and pressed to oak for MLF.

Medium bodied red wines have a lightly textured mouthfeel with moderate flavour impact. Often medium in colour.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Bright crimson in colour, with a rather compelling nose, this single vineyard Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley is quite brambly. Dry herbs, red fruits, animal skins, this is surprisingly complex for such a young wine and augurs well for its future. If there is new oak here, it has been kept to a minimum. The same applies to the use of whole bunches – everything is in ideal balance with a hint of bacon fat on the palate which is quite silky with soft tannins and good length. Like this a lot and it is undoubtedly a wine with potential. Five years on its ear.
