Dry, Light Bodied style of Grüner VeltlinerPrimarily grown in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, Gruner Veltliner thrives in cool climates making it a fitting variety for the Alpine Valleys. With a relatively young history in Australia (the first commercial example was released in 2009 by Lark Hill in the Canberra District), the variety has seen promising growth in regions such as Adelaide Hills, Eden Valley, Tumbarumba and parts of Tasmania.

Billy Button Grüner Veltliner 2022
Rocks and slate, citrus and chalk, oranges and grapefruit. There’s a fair spread of flavour here, it has that extra something in profile terms, but it’s the grainy/chalky/spicy texture that really gets the wine going, and elevates it. There’s nothing really intense about this wine, if that’s what you’re looking for, but in all other respects this is a tip top release.
