Michel Chapoutier revolutionised the estate by pioneering single site wines from prestigious appellations such as Hermitage Cote Rotie and Chateauneuf du Pape. From their classic Cotes du Rhone to the legendary LErmite Hermitage these wines are recognised globally for their precision and quality. Les Grands Merisiers Chateauneuf du Pape is crafted primarily from Grenache blended with Syrah and Mourvedre. The nose is intense and complex offering a bouquet of ripe black cherry plum and wild strawberry layered with classic Southern Rhone notes of garrigue herbs cracked black pepper and a hint of dark chocolate. Aged 12 15 months in concrete tanks it is rich and full bodied with silky fine grained tannins. This is a vibrant red that captures the power of the regions sun drenched galets roules terraces while maintaining a refreshing lift.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.

Ripe stewed fruits perhaps rhubarb and touches of pepper/capsicum on the nose. Attacks the palate with controlled intensity. Slinky tannins that roll around the mouth. Finish goes on and on.
