Shiraz (60%) raised in a mix of new and seasoned French hogsheads, while the grenache (40%) only saw tank. Leading with shiraz in this blend, though perhaps less common, makes a lot of sense, with the grenache providing red-fruited lift and a pleasing open-knit quality to the palate, while the shiraz feeds in darker brambly summer berries, spice and earth. It’s a nicely pitched, medium-weighted offering at a more than fair price.
