Meeting of minds from two hemispheres, winemakers Paul Pujol and Francois Millet collaborated to make this striking pinot with grace and sophistication. Notes of dark cherry, smoked game, thyme, fragrant spice and violet lead to a concentrated palate that is intensely flavoursome, while remaining seductively elegant. Perfumed and engaging, this is a splendid offering from their home vineyard in the upper Bendigo district. At its best: 2020 to 2028.

The 2016 Cuvee aux Antipodes Pinot Noir comes from the same parcel of vines as the 2015 and was made in essentially the same way. Yet it shows more tautness, tension and juiciness. It displays floral notes on the nose, then raspberry and cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky in texture but crisp, with some firm tannins on the finish. Give it until 2020.
