This Vieilles Vignes displays typical Nuits nose of small red fruits such as sour cherries and pitted fruits. Eucalyptus notes add a certain freshness. On the palate, the tannins are noticeable, and the structure firm, but a crunchy fruitiness awakens the appetite—medium in length. Red wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges almost always have a dark and intense colour. Their aromas are powerful and complex, mixing cherries, blackcurrants, truffles, and spices simultaneously. They are among the most tannic Burgundies. The combination of tannin and body makes for big, solid wines.
