Varietally expressive and beautifully fragrant on the nose showing cassis, cedary oak, vanilla and dried herb notes, it's succulent and generous in the mouth offering excellent focus and persistency. Wonderfully styled and harmonious with splendid complexity and length. At its best: now to 2036.

Whole-berry, open-top fermentation and maturation in used French oak. Freshness is a hallmark of Penley’s latest releases, and while this wine fits that bill it's also bold and full bodied. Indeed, this really is at the hefty end of the scale. Blackberry and kirsch flavours roll lusciously through the palate dragging tar, dark chocolate and sweet herbs alongside. It's not subtle but it's effective.
