Savaterre Shiraz is more in the Syrah mode. Tasting blind you would assume it was a northern Rhone. It’s a beautiful wine with sophistication, complexity, tension and power. Very lifted and complex. 100% shiraz. A complete wine. You must decant this wine well ahead of time to see it in its entirety. Highly perfumed with distinct red fruit preserve and floral character. Smooth, seamless and almost pinot-like in its vibrant and weightless character. Discreet fine tannins and acid frame this wine. Best enjoyed in now - 20 years.

This is a seamless, highly elegant Shiraz from the granitic subalpine zone of Beechworth. A waft of dried seaweed, blueberry, lilac and salami are carried long by peppery acidity and a carriage of tannin, all detailed and succulent. Initially understated, this mid-weighted wine grows in stature with time in the glass or ideally, in the cellar. Fermented wild and barely messed with this, this is unadulterated winemaking at its best.
