About this product

Made under the watchful eye of Barossa winemaking legend Chris Ringland, the wines of Bodegas Alto Moncayo are all sourced from low-yielding, ancient clones of Garnacha (Grenache) from 40-70 year old bush vines in Aragona. Chris' signature winemaking techniques are used, including fermentation in small open fermenters and gentle basket pressing. Veraton is the most fruit-forward of the three wines, aged in 100% new French and American oak barrels for 24 months.
This wine is deep, opaque red-black in appearance, with intense aromas of super-ripe berries and hints of gun-smoke. The palate is similarly deep, rich, and ripe, with dark plums, cherries, and hints of liquorice, molasses and cinnamon, supported by chalky tannins and a long powerful finish.
