It's been a while since tasting a pinot from the Hunter. This is good, without the beetroot-sarsaparilla-medicinal notes of examples from other warmer zones. Simple in the best, gluggable sense. Sappy. Wild strawberry flavours are streamlined by gently edgy tannic rails and a dollop of creamy oak. This is strongly reminiscent of a Sancerre rouge or Alsatian pinot. Thrills with a chill!
