About this product

Côte-Rôtie La Landonne is definitively of the Côte Brune, a confluence of clay and limestone with heavy deposits of iron. Straight Syrah of a moodier brood, the fruit composition is darker and distinctly ferrous, with riffs on blood, ironstone, kelp, liquorice strap, soy and oodles of exotic spice as if being transported to a souk. The larger framed wine of the three, La Landonne is also the cuvée that tends to go the greatest distance in the cellar. The tannins are strapping, tactile and assertive, with a dutiful stream of freshness to keep the engine purring well into the next bottle, or at the very least, the fantasy that there is one!
