The vineyard series range of wines by David Bicknell at Oakridge matches particular varieties of wines with specific sites, showcasing outstanding examples of single vineyard wines. This wine was sourced from the north-facing Hyde Park vineyard sited in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream. vintage 2021 was a long, cool growing season with average cropping levels and ample rainfall has resulted in wines with outstanding varietal definition and purity. 100% Hand Picked, with 90% whole berry fermentation.

V2021 deep crimson, heaps of concentrated fruit. You’re not disappointed if you have a BBQ steak, or lamb shoulder to match this. A hint of sourness/stalkiness from (I guess) whole bunches in the mix, tannins perhaps evolve into a very sm

Thin, lacking tannic structure

Some fresh fruit evident and quite pretty but lacking structure and power, very thin tannins fall away quickly. Mayne ok at $25, but not $35-40
