This excellent range was introduced a few years ago to take advantage of the excellent fruit available in Swan Valley . Opens with a distinctive minty peppermint aroma over the plummy fruit nuances. Shows vibrant, lively blackberry characters with a little coffee and mocha working with a slight savouriness. Grainy and textured with a palate displaying finesse.

Its satisfying to see producers proudly proclaiming the Swan Valley on the front label. As Australia's second-oldest wine region, the history there spans 2 centuries. Shiraz is one of the key red varieties grown (along with grenache) and this 1840 does Swan Valley shiraz justice. Concentrated, shapely, lush and long, this is a brilliant and opulent iteration of the shiraz, the warmth of the sunshine over the Swan on show. All things tucked away and in place (oak, tannins and acid). Drink 2021-2031.
