The Vicar can rightly claim to be among the top echelon of Shiraz released in McLaren Vale in any given year. The phenomenal 2020 keeps the torch alight with, firstly, beguiling red petal and exotic spice aromatics. The wine itself is simply gorgeous - velvet texture, saturating classic McLaren Vale Shiraz, building in the mouth, warm and inviting. Wrapped gently in toasty oak, dark spice and finely honed tannins, it's mostly about black fruit, dark chocolate nibs, black olive, damp black earth and hints of licorice - a pure expression of 'Vale shiraz at its concentrated, carefully composed best. Cellar for ten+ years. A beauty!
