Brand's LairaBlockers Cabernet Merlot
About this product
founder Eric Brand, one of the original
‘Blockers’. This was the name given to the
original Coonawarra land holders who sold
their grapes to larger wineries in the
mid-1900's. Made in true Coonawarra style
our Cabernet Merlot displays blue and dark
berry fruits; It is full and rounded on
the palate, and has a smooth and refined
tannin structure. Barrel fermentation and
maturation has provided integrated spicy
and nutty French Oak characters to
complement the pure varietal fruits.
This wine is perfect for drinking now but
with careful cellaring will continue to age
beautifully over the next 10 years .

Succulent fruit presents immediately on the nose along with hints of vanilla and spice. Immaculately smooth, this is a true Coonawarra cab merlot, designed for early to mid-term drinking, displaying richness and roundness, not to mention interest-laden layers of flavour. Upfront blue and red fruit make way for a darker fruited mid-palate cosseted by nutty oak and finishing long and languid. A very convincing cab merlot that will please the fans.
