Frescobaldi
di Castiglioni Toscana IGT

Wine styleDry, Full Bodied style of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carbernet Franc, Sangiovese

About this product

The Castiglioni estate has been a defining symbol of the Frescobaldi family's wine-growing tradition since 1300, and was the base from which wine production first originated for the Frescobaldi Family. An IGT blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese, with 12 months of maturation in barriques, followed by 2 years in bottle. The nose is characterised by intense aromas of blackberries, black plums, and blackcurrants, along with notes of cinnamon, star anise, clove and hints of liquorice. On the palate, it is soft, rich, and velvety, finishing with aromatic notes of coffee, chocolate and a refreshing hint of mint. A lovely medium-full bodied wine with surprising richness and depth.
