Vintage 2004
97 points Halliday Wine Companion
66% pinot noir and 34% chardonnay, 88% from Grand Cru vineyards, and 300 different parcels, all barrel-fermented in used oak. Once bottled it spends eight years on lees under cork prior to disgorgement, its dosage 8g/l. Despite the double jeopardy of cork, taint is seldom an issue. Deep green-gold, it is very complex yet supple and seductive, fresh yet mouthfilling, a cornucopia of almond, dried/crystallised fruits, spice, toast, and even a touch of honey. It rings my bell.
