Vintage 2020

A whiff of gunsmoke upon opening, early picked nectarine and nectarine skin, green apple, green plum, quince and lime, tightly sprung and with a deceptive and misleading initial lightness on the palate, a ginger buzz adding vitality. Understated, but important, oak notes are perceptible. It's one of those gorgeously layered chardonnays that build in the mouth. Enticing and still evolving, there's sufficient ammunition for this to improve much further.

Pale gold. Intense grapefruit, white peach, apricot aromas with flinty/ tonic water/ sea breezy notes. Lively and expressive with plentiful grapefruit, white peach apricot flavours, underlying roasted almond/ toasty notes, attractive creamy mid-palate richness and long fresh minerally acidity. Lovely clarity, volume and crunchy persistency. Not or the long term but delicious to drink now.
