Altus RiseAscension Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
About this product
After careful harvesting, the fruit came into the winery for processing and spent 17-18 days on skins. Cold soaking was utilised to bring out fruit vibrancy and provide a richer fruit profile. The wine was put to barrel for Malo-lactic fermentation and were racked periodically during their 15-month maturation period. The barrels were 100% French oak and predominantly very tight grained selections, of which 30% were new with the balance being split between one and two-year-old barrels

Stylish and engaging, the wine shows crème de cassis, dark plum, tobacco, game and spicy oak characters on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate that displays excellent depth and persistency. It’s wonderfully structured by chalky tannins, finishing firm and superbly long. At its best: now to 2030.
